Hello there, NFS:SA community.  Smile

I came here a few days ago, so I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Michail, in-game nickname is -ffs-REFLEX or just REFLEX. I'm 19 years old guy, who was born and stil living in a capital of Ukraine called Kiev. I am a Graphic and UI designer, so if you need something, you can freely ask me.
I'm quite an old MTA player. My MTA career already counts more than 7 years. Mostly I've been playing on a Race DM/DD communities if you know what's that. I think some of you heard about FFS Gaming community (not an advertisement). I'm a member of that community, also taking a place of Super Moderator, if we say so. Since that type of game mode became a bit boring for me, I decided to move myself to something another and randomly found a video by Whitey. I saw that server is cool and gives me a feeling of old Need For Speed, which we all remember.

I think that's all. Allons-y!   Cool

So, a Graphics and UI designer? Welcome!
I'm gonna be honest with you and deliver you the harsh truth in one go to spare you of unnecessary discomfort. Don't bother too much trying to offer your work to these guys, they mostly simply tell you that they don't need it. Believe me, "I have experience on the matter". From UI elements to 3D models I made for them. The only thing that "seems" (since I got no actual proof of it) to make it into the game was two bodykits I made them, but they were really, really force-fed. I then asked them if they could give me the buggy's mesh for me to make parts for it, but they just ignored. They're just not interested.
I, however, am interested. I always love meeting other artists, you can learn much by seeing others' work, you know? And it's fun! If you wanna share stuff in Discord, or if you have a website of your own and such, give me a poke. You probably don't know what I even do, but I explain that better in my own "Hello" thread, so, I won't be writing you a wall just yet.
Either way, have fun playing the game! We might end up in the same race someday, you never know.

Well, a kinda interesting message from you. You seem to be a cool and open guy, that's awesome. Well, I know that feeling, honestly, I've tried a lot of stuff while being here in MTA. But this game helped me to choose, my future, I'd say. I did so much sh*t here. I know how it feels when no one gives a f about your work and how hard you've tried for it. Anyways, you did it. You have to be proud of yourself. I'll try to join Discord someday, may be even tomorrow.

I'm not that hard type of no-lifers, so reaching your rank might be hard for me. Only 22k of RP :c
Would be awesome tho! :p

Yeah, I'm sorry for being so direct, I just, well, been there. It's just so you know roughly what you're getting yourself into, I could have used that myself. Could have spared some time for other projects. It's a shame, though, it going to waste like that.
Thanks! I can relate.
You say this game helped choosing your future? Pursuing your dream career, I suppose? If so, best of luck. The best job is the one you got a passion for.
As a kid I spent my free time sketching and dreaming about cars, always been a car guy, blame it on my father who's been into car tuning. The opportunity to become a car painter came as a random chance, if you asked me 5 years ago I would have never even guessed I could become one (back then I was trying to become a cartoonist/animator or just anything regarding graphics), but, now that I am, - damn - I got lucky, I love it! It's still a normal job (and a hard one too, mostly), but it's also a lot more fun. So, definitely worth giving it your all for your dream job and not stop until you're satisfied.
If you do join Discord, NFS:SA's channel link is at the Home page of this site. Worth a look. Not much of an active discussion, but there's a lot of memes.
And, don't be fooled, I don't know for sure what's my RP at the moment, but I can assure you, I just lose most of the races, my WR must be something like 20%, and if it's not, it's just due to Drift and Drag money farming! xD

I don't really understand what you mean by "force-fed" there?

Anyways, we always appreciate content being created for the server.
The reason not much happened with the bodykits at the time was because D class parts update wasn't fully being worked on yet, but I can assure you we will be using your bodykit (with your permission).
However it is difficult working with somebody who isn't actually part of the team and has no interest to be, as things cannot be co-ordinated properly. For example, you were working on a Cadrona bodykit at the same time as I was finishing mine - I had no idea that was happening, so what can I do :V

Here is a picture of MatthewChow's bodykit in-game, to be featured in the parts update:

And the Buggy parts thing, sorry about ignoring, i meant to get back to you. Everything on the server needs to remain exclusive to the server, so I hope you can understand why we'd rather not share something like a car's model file, to somebody who is not part of the NFSSA team.

So yeah, sorry about any miscommunications, but content from hardworking fans is always appreciated and welcome, however there are limits to it.
Thanks!

And hello REFLEX, enjoy your stay Smile

That seems to be an important piece of information to be told right away... I made the same question about the Buggy to 3 different people in your team and none of them referred that, two of which responding simply with silence. If I had gotten that answer right away I would have understood perfectly and skipped to some other car. Now, silence is quite demotivating. It's as if no one gives a crap about you and you simply don't know why. I honestly had doubts if I was actually helping or just being a burden, the latter being what I assumed after a while of asking around.

This and some other reasons is why I used the expression "force-fed". Before I had made my first bodykit, I had asked a couple of times on the forums if someone was interested if I contributed with a few parts, getting no reply. Then I "finished" the bodykit and went to contact you directly, which, worked out well for this bodykit, after you patiently ironing out some of its kinks. Then I tried to see if you guys had use for other kind of parts, you said you already had enough of them, but it took me a long time to understand the actual reason why not and it was even at random (The thing about you having to edit each exhaust, spoiler, bumper and the such repeatedly to fit each different car). Once again, a vital piece of information I should have known right away. Then I made the bodykit for the Cadrona, which I think it had a lot less issues than the Fortune's because I already knew what I was doing better now, so, it supposedly was much faster to get ready, however, you told me right away that you didn't wanna use it because it would make the Cadrona have three bodykits instead of just two, but then both you and Quindo told me it was possible for the car to have three, so, ever since then, I got confused. To this day, I'm still not certain if you're gonna use that bodykit or not, and, until you mentioned me in Discord a while back asking for the name, I still had doubts if you were using the Fortune's or not! I know you told me at the time that you were, but then, all that silence and the Buggy situation got me feeling down and uncertain. I actually stopped the work on the bodykit for Uranus I was coming up with, waiting for an update's part list thread where I could get actual confirmation my things were getting used.

Yes, there are indeed miscommunications and a lot of uncertainties, and they're exactly what made me all screwed up. It's a confusing process.

Despite loving the server and wanting to help you guys in anyway I can, I would be pretty much next to useless as part of the developing team, that's why I don't make the proposition. I work from 9 to 6 and gotta take care of my own things at home, time is pretty limited and I can only really get into these sort of projects on weekends, however, as far as I know, you aren't looking for UI changes or reskins, which is the only thing I can do properly, and my 3D modelling experience is pretty much connecting dots. I only started learning a few months ago, so, every model of mine has to get finished by someone else, unless someone actually teaches me to take care of the UVs and lighting myself, which I would love since my main goal here is still to learn and earn experience with the programs until I can make something from start to finish. But, as of now, yes, arguably, I could help a little bit, but not enough to really make a difference. It would be, like, one bodykit per week tops that later would need yet some other person to finish. That, I can do now without failing compromises or having someone depending on my work. I hope you understand my reasoning behind this... It's just not worth it. I prefer giving you extra stuff from time to time with no compromise.
And to clear any doubts. In no way I wanna force you to use the stuff I make or take it the wrong way if you don't wanna use it, you're 100% free to judge and decide, but, please, just clearly tell me if yes or no and the why of it. Feedback is literally the most important part for me. Please, just no silence, it's the worst thing ever! Xb
I'm sorry for anything bad and for me making assumptions based on silence, I just wasn't sure of what was actually going on until recently.
