i think the collision disable for torches arent really necessary, because it becomes too easy to pass the start/finish line
other than that, these updates are

that torches could change the fate of one's race result,
so result couldnt be determined until finish/start line passed
I got fucked up many times, but I also got advantages from some of those
so...I can still feel the importance of role it plays xD
