Let's increase the player count

It is understandable that developers of this server does not want to spend time on more features, if it doesn't make enough money to justify it. So I have a few ideas how to enlarge the playerbase, and would welcome anyone who wants to help me. If we will be successful in making this server more popular, the developers will make more content for it, if they see that its worth their time.

1. Make a high quality, short trailer for this server containing all of the features of this amazing MTA mod.
The video should contain: all the freerun activities - diamond hunt, magazine run, duels, all the tuning categories from each shop, all types of races, the monetization model of this free to play game, names of all the songs but not their actual sound(it is copyrighted). I will try to make the video myself, but I am sure many of you can do a better job.

The video cannot contain any copyrighted music or 18+ content, no memes, jokes or funny sound-effects. Remember, we want this video to be acceptable for as many people as possible.
If you want some overlaying music, pick a song from one of the many royalty-free YouTube internet creators such as TeknoAxe, etc. But don't use an overused and popular song.

2. Use the trailer to advertise this server on as many sites as possible to reach as many new potential players as possible.

Don't spam it, follow rules of websites. Post it in websites that already have some interest in need for speed, or racing games in general.

3. Reach out some popular let's player on YouTube, and get them to play nfssa in their video.
I guess the way to do it, would be to go down the list of popular youtubers that might be interested, and send them e-mail requests to play this game, with a link to the trailer we made. But if you are going to do this, remember to be nice, and don't use any rough language, even if all of your e-mail requests will be denied or ignored. Just don't be an asshole OK.

4. Take care of the new players by assisting them in quick races and custom races, so they don't get frustrated, and quit after single race. For example the shift+x shortcut is not obvious, just like the + and - buttons to control the gearbox in drag races. I have seen a few of the players quit that way.
I play nfssa a few hours each day,  and at least one hour of that I will pick a stock E class car, get to quick races with new players to help them. BUT, the rule is, to let them win, because new players have no chance against us veterans with millions of rp of skill, and losing 5 times in a row is no fun, that alone can make the players ragequit. So if you want to help me help new players like this, you are not allowed to win, you always have to be last. This sacrifice of rp and money is an investment to increased number of players on this server, and therefore, eventually more content, ic devs see that nfssa actually makes money for them.

Players who say that this server is dead anyway and that this effort is pointless are losers who will give up at every obstacle. To them I say, that this server is currently the best, most polished and feature rich server of the whole MTA, and nfssa is currently one of the best, if not THE best free to play racing mmo, certainly the best Need for speed multiplayer game, and it only lacks in advertisement.

Very true and well said!
But I will not engage in any of this...
... most probably.

I'd like to, but I gotta worry about other more important life situations right now that will be resolved in a few months and I need all the time I can get.

In the past, I already did try to advertise NFSSA in sites like Twitter and DeviantArt, but I didn't have much success, unfortunately.
I don't really know what else could work in my case... I guess some posters or something...

you could take those as inspiration
there was another video, but i forgot who made it
Also:

-The shift-x is shown in the tutorial and the + and - is shown in the tutorial that pops up at the first drag race

Sorry to bring this to you, but it won't turn out well if you ask me. Most of our regular players left due to lack of updates and more contents, so that's what new players most likely will do after a week or two. Making a nice trailer and publishing the server is brilliant, but we are like 1 year late already. Should have done it when the server and the devs are active so we can pump up that player count up to 500 or something since the server still remains interesting for old and new players alike with new updates coming out after some while.
Sorry for the negativity. I won't hold you back though, do what you want. I might eventually take part on this if it's needed.

At this point in time, we don't only need new players, we need new developers as well, since one of our major issues is lack of content and updates...
Hard to find, I know, but we need someone to pick up the pace from where the current devs left us, people who are actually pumped up to be part of something and have the time to dedicate to this.
I don't even blame our current devs for loosing interest, after years of this they did great, so great that they got run to the ground. They are literally working for free.
We need someone wise whom to pass our ball to. And I say "wise" as in not to ruin what's already been done.
Where to find such people, though?... I don't have a clue.
Weren't there other "failed" NFS themed MTA server attempts? Who were the developers of those?

Matthew, the devs didnt lose interest. They just dont have time to make stuff for the server anymore. They are mostly in University or something and therefor have no time at all.
Also I dont see any chance of bartek giving some random new Dev guy all files to the server, all Dev's are trusted people and friends of bartek

I know. That's the problem.
University is 3 to 5 years, that means the game will stall for 3 to 5 years and bartek won't pass the source to other guy, so in 3 to 5 years when they do "have time" once again, there'll be a 80% probability they truly have lost interest and moved on with their lives.
Either way, and whatever I say, result is the same. Server is gonna be dead. I give it a year or two of life tops if things don't change.

Also, don't take every word I say so literally. What is this, some law-court? Half English words I don't even know them, I'm changing phrases all the time because I don't know the words I want. It's kinda useless to stick me out on a word here because the next minute what I say will be completely different... Even if the meaning will be roughly the same. ... Very generally. ... Up there somewhere... xD

I'd rather say, university time is the last couple of years when you have more or less time for playing those silly games etc. After that is finally time to grow up so I wouldn't expect that present situation will improve in the future...i know that feeling cause univeristy times are coming to an end soo fast and retiring is inevitable. #lastsummerholidaythisyear

Yeah... I know the feeling.
I never went to university, but I do have a job. Working for 9 hours a day... Kinda sucks. It really doesn't leave you time for much else...
After I get all my things done I get like... 1 hour truly free each day that isn't really enough to do much, and, at that point, what a guy really needs the most is to simply rest.
Come on, no one has patience to come from work, prepare everything for the current and next day and then still use up their last hour working in yet another thing. It's just already too much as it is!

So that's why I know. After they come out from University, all side projects are over, either you want it or not.
I left so many comics and animation projects half way... That fucks me up so bad, it's kinda like saying goodbye to your dreams. I'm not even working with cars anymore, so I don't even have that going my way right now. I loved working with cars, they've always been my true passion and each was like a project of their own. Now... Work is just... Urrrrrr... Problems? I don't even give a fuck! I don't even wanna be there. Yeah, I get a better salary, but, I simply do not enjoy it as I did before.

Yo, sorry, I got sidetracked. xD
But yeah, you get the idea.
