Class url as normal, will be boring and even there dyno pros will win, the biggest chance for newbies to win is on actual max 250, difference between non dyno and pro dyno at full tune cars is too big for newbies, also higher speed [score] = bigger time loses when u make mistake, if u really want to win url, make max 250 setup...

If u really think, that u can win if u have same car... U are wrong.

Well... Even though this would be an inprovement in a way, I don't think this would be a solution, unfortunately.

Before anything else, the lobby has to be improved. There are not many players playing URL (or playing at all, actually). When you got a bunch of different cars that can go into different rooms, you want a fast way to change to the desired car so you can enter the most populated lobby in time. The last time I played URL, I kept loosing the lobbies because people kept changing score rooms, and I kept driving back and forth between the garage and stadium to change cars, but I was taking so much time doing it that the moment I entered the lobby again, people already had left to the race. And that kept happening again and again, a very frustrating situation.
So, to me, that is the most urgent problem to fix. Make the cars selectable within the lobby or make it possible to enter with a selection of cars in different scores at the same time instead of just one car. That would make things so much simpler already and would totally heal the ache I feel on my ass.

Then, after that is done, we'd discuss the actual racing itself, which I am also giving my 2 cents about.
When I think of the subject, I imediately think of the "meta cars" situation. We know for a fact that certain cars, specially in B class, dominate these kind of races, however, that also happens with opponents of the same class.
Imagine we'd change the system so that the cars are separated by class. Very well, the Sultans would only be racing each other together and there wouldn't be any Blistas or Mananas in sight, but what about the other class B cars?
Would my Jester be a match to a Sultan? Would the Buggy be a match to a BJ?
I admit, a class based lobby would be better for URL, because the cars would all be maxed and with a maxed car mistakes have a bigger impact on a race, because there's less "fast cars" and "slow cars", they are closer in performance with each other, fact, however, that is "closer" not "close", then the problem would be that the cars would have a big performance gap within the class, like it already happens in normal races. The "Buff this, nerf that" discussions would still go on.
The other thing about it is that the "250 score", "300 score", "350 score", etc. builds would become obsolete, and the players that put so much effort on tuning those cars would not be happy with it.

Woof, I had to take a bathroom break in the middle of this. Sitting for too long is bad for your health, so, once in a while it's good to do some sporadic walks to the bathroom and stand up for a while peeing, get your members well stretched, so you can carry on exercising your sitting and typing.

Anyway, I don't quite have a solution for this where I could point my finger at it and say "Yes, this is what we need!", but, my idea is... Why not have both?
Lobbies by class have the advantages that we already know, but, if we keep the score system we won't be ruining a bunch of people's dynos.
The problem with the score system is that cars can be anywhere whatever class they are, there's class B cars anywhere from 250 to all the way up, so, why not put a limit on that? Block class B cars from entering lobbies where the score is under 350, for example. That way a Manana won't be facing a Sultan so easily and you still can make your 3/2/2 builds (while in class system you'd have to be maxed to be competive).
It's literally having both options, for the best and for the worst, instead of changing a whole system.
I don't see a "perfect" way of approaching this, and, for now, this is the best I can come up with.

And this discussion of URL rooms strikes again... Seriously, with or without class only lobbies, pros will beat noobs, simple as that, who has better knowledge in dynoing will have advantage, whatever the circunstances, so, it also would be bad because class only lobbies would be less populated because 90% of the players would play more in B for example and less in D, and I don't even need to say anything about suv and vintage. The only "true" way of making the URL's "Fair" for everyone is 1:Improve the matchmaking, making the pros only racing pros and vice versa, but that would make it unfair for the pros cause they would never start the URL, and the system of kicking who has more wins than the average on the lobby when it's full is already annoying enough. 2:Actually improve yourself, get some knowledge on the cars and dyno, and only race on 1 score, with a car you know you dominate, plus learn the track. There will always be unbalance here, so it's pointless to discuss about that, what we need to populate URL is more tracks, and only that, since bayview is boring af now a days, and lsap is getting old too. There aren't any changes that would make URL better and more fair, who is good will always beat who is not.

hmm, i appreciate the idea actually, a good one.
since nerf/buff here and there which is based on performance in URL, will never break the chains of imbalance.
take it simpler, if one or two cars that got nerfed, there will be other cars that get "better", even without any buff to them.

However, the new "problems" will emerge, which are:
1. the stock, or lower score versus the maxxed ones. even tho, dyno and skill will talk louder here.
2. still, some cars inside the class, will dominate  others (opinion of Jack aka Bannon)
3. the variations, that feel of how to get better than other players by using the non-meta cars

another thing tho, if im not mistaken,
Bartek stated something like class A is just impossible to be balanced equally to class B, and class B to the rest of the lower classes.
Reason is just the limitation of the engine of GTA San Andreas.

That's all I can say for now

In the beginning of URL could use all cars from A (obviously Mamba was OP) but could still considered "balanced", i do not want Class A and B be equal.

Wow such a BIG opinion..... i agree when you said won't would be a solution because is impossible but can improve.
Always have this discussion "nerf this why buff" but now in the right direction.
Remember how Futo was EXTREME MASTER OP? Now it's not more worse than Washington and nobody complains that so why not doing the same? You just need make Dyno adjustments, voila.

I have a Futo, but, I honestly didn't notice much difference after it being nerfed (maybe because I never used anything other than stock tires, I only used that car for drift), I can't say much about the Futo nerf because I simply do not know.
I always stay out of the "buff/nerf" discussions because they almost never affect me. I don't really care about the car's performance or dyno (although I do know how to do dynos pretty well, I just don't wanna go to that effort in most cars. So far I only messed with 3, although those saw a great improvement) because whatever the car I am racing with, I always tend to lose, and I don't really mind it. Anyone half decent can beat me in NFS:SA nowadays, I'm not a competive gamer, I'm only here for the fancy car tuning. I'm not good at racing. Back when I was younger, like, 5 to 7 years ago, I was good! I always played dirty, but heck, I dominated NFSW completely. Now I already lost it... I had my fun.
So, sorry if I can't give solid opinions about certain aspect of the game, I just don't have the experience for it. My opinions are more based on logic and me just reflecting on the matter rather than experience, so, take them with a grain of salt (is that the right term?).
Whatever the devs decide or whatever changes are made to the cars' handling, I'm fine with it. As long as I can keep tuning pretty shiny cars and have an easy way to afford them without having to win races or beat someone to a pulp, I'm okay.
With that out of the way, if making adjustments to a car or the dyno will fix an issue everyone is having and everyone is aware of, well, what's really stopping you? And that question is directed at the devs. If they are not "doing things about what everyone is talking about" - or however I say it, I'm already sleepy - I suppose they got a reason too, and everyone would profit from knowing that reason exactly if it wasn't already mentioned before. Even is the answer is "we don't know how to deal with the situation yet" or "we are leaving that to fix at a later time", it's always good to know their intentions... So, does anyone know the reasons why they aren't messing with this kind of stuff yet? Because there's countless threads with different solutions and many of those are already repeating themselves, so, whoever can do something about, gather them up, list the pros and cons of each idea, compare them and do something even if just giving feedback, then, pin that thread so the next person who makes another one of these can never miss it and has a good base from where to develop his own idea from, if still needed.
Unorganised ideas here and there growing like weeds (even if great) don't tend to stick much or for long and its contents end up being lost.
I should know, just 4 hours ago I was digging out some old thread also about URL ideas. I actually had to use Google and recall things I had said in the thread to find it, because, I swear, I couldn't see it anywhere in the forum! That thing was hard to find!

Why is pointless to discuss about important things? It's pointless every time discuss pointless things like when release Muscle Update? When Sabre, Phoenix, Stallion, Tampa, Clover, Buccaneer?
Everything has advantages and disadvantages i just want to reduce the difference a bit. I think there are no players because have to do with a collective disappointment, why join URL knowing 100% sure that going to lose?
We need to stay focused right now for the real problems instead of suggest small things; maybe another time about how "the tracks are so boring" which will surely hinder us, even so i appreciate your opinion.

Oh, no, I'm not saying they're pointless, not at all! I'm saying they could be better used. The problem about these threads is that they get lost after a while and whoever is looking for them later can only find a fraction of them when there's so many. It's useful information that ends up being virtually lost, and not considered when it could.
They should be compiled in some way, either put together in a specified folder or listed in a dedicated thread.

I still think, all things considered, this thread makes a good valid proposition, with cons or not, I'm just not that aware of what else is out there.

EDIT: I can't believe it took me this long to notice that was meant for Raiyou...

I have different idea... make one room where all players will be matched with other ones... if u want to drive manana i u will be matched to others noobs in e class cars with simmiliar score, if theres not similar score cars in same class u will get cars from different class with simmilar score... and noobs will be paired with noob and pros with pros...

It can be based on personal top times on url or something...

That actually doesn't sound bad either, the only problem I see is the match maker selecting cars from us that are not meant to go on URL, for example, a drift build. We'd still need a way to specify which what cars we are entering with, even if just a checkbox at the garage saying "this car is eligible for URL".
