The LS gunshots are actually coming from the ghetto because of a bug in the original SA and it was never removed nor fixed. But about this idea I'm 100% on board with it.

Also I agree with Matt on the garage sounds. If to be added then real life workshops sounds will be needed and to be random.

As far as the sounds of the workshop are concerned MatthewChow can help us in this, although at the beginning the administration should add new garages :p

Yeah, I can help with that.
I'll need to get myself a sound recorder first, though. They don't let cameras in at my work because of the F-16, and recordings from a phone are just plain crap.
So, if they go ahead with this idea, by all means hit me up so I can buy and use the thing.

Ah... I forgot I said that.
Actually, I went through my archives looking for some video shot at any of the workshops I've worked in...
I did find one, but it's super weird. I think I was shooting this video to troll someone from the internet, I have that slight idea at least.
If it ain't it, I might have gotten high with the chemicals.
Or not. Sometimes I just gotta admit I'm a weird guy whose jokes are even weirder. I finally felt what's it like to be on the receiving end of my jokes.
... I did not get it.
Maybe with different context, maybe if I remembered.
But don't mind what I'm doing. The important part is the background noise! Recorded with a phone, but, genuinely, that's what a workshop sounds like!

So, in this 30 secs recording, the most evident noise to point out is of the random orbit sanders. Then there's voices of people that are almost screaming to make themselves heard through the noise, and some bangs from a hammer or something hitting the floor...
My idea would be to take each possible element on its own and mix them into a fabricated full lenght track that can be believable but not tiring to listen to.

... hmmm, (???) (wat) I understand? instead of risking such a trivial thing as a game, it is not better to use the sounds used in nfsu2? give a similar effect and you are sure that they won't knock you out of work Big Grin

I cant belive that i was never thinking about ambient music in background, without the music, the game felt little bit empty, now i know why, big +1 for this.
It sounds like few minutes of work for big improvement.

I like the idea and it is cool, so it gives a better experience in-game server
