URL Abuse

It's more of a bad thing than good, it doesn't matter if people are cool with it or not, did you already though if the people that attend to some kind tournaments just combined with the other participants to make equal points and share the prize? Do you ever see all the F1 cars lining up on the finish line at the same time to share the win? It would be pretty boring imo and lame. What's the point of opening a "tournament" if no one will actually compete with each other and will plan to share the prize? Imo URL should give more type of prizes other than just Locust, and ofc fix this scoring method.

That is completely an idea of a casual gamer, not of a no-lifer. I mean, I really enjoyed URL when it was recently added. But in fact and honestly, I couldn't have any lucky attempt to do the same URL races in NFS:U2 themselves. Nevertheless, we were hanging in URL for three days and instantly abandoned it. I barely remember these moments and the exact reason so far. Even so, I was actively competing on regular races, you know those. URL seemed to be useless, as far as 50-60% of players were sick-skilled (way too) and doing top times along with farming, the minority were novices or those who were trying to deal with (let's name it low online) low online on races for mid-skilled guys, cuz the most are farming on a certain point range for a healthy period of time. That was annoying. You were racing those 10 Laps to came across with such crafty mechanic which is literally doing some weird stuff with dyno (which was so badly welcomed by me as well), then lose races one by one, losing patience and so on. There weren't any fun and entertainment contexts on URL whatsoever (except the specific ones with specific rules).

then you better go and do some research for the difference between casual and hardcore (no-lifer) players

What is boring for the "tryhards" is the lack of new tracks not the URL itself, casual and pros do URL for the same reason, profit as susis said, status, test dyno setup etc, useless URL is certainly not, but as the thread says, abusing a cheap way to have this kind of profit is very lame, try to work for it atleast god dammit.

The thread has no point already, situation was explained, opinions heard so it should be closed, cuz there is no point is arguing over it for the simple reason that nothing will change.

People abusing duels to get free RP and money every day. Starting races for each other in order to complete daily tasks or simply going for the top times. This is the same exact story.

It's not like anyone's stopping you from winning the tournament anyways.

This doesn't compare to URL at all, since the prize of duels is so low, also using normal races to achieve daily tasks or global tasks isn't "abuse" cause ur supposed to race on this server and the majority of tasks you achieve via racing, also anyone can set top times, if people get other people to just start their lobby to go for top times, it doesn't mean much, because someone else can beat this time in another occassion, so it's whatever, URL is a TOURNAMENT, also there are EVENTS in there that give MUCH money and RP, and from there comes the abuse problem.
Also, I know it doesn't stop anyone from winning a tournament, the thing is these farmers don't let anyone join their lobby, they quit as soon someone outside their group enters the lobby, so starting an URL sometimes gets really annoying, in other words you can't race in URL sometimes because of this.

You previously mentioned this:
Quote:What's the point of opening a "tournament" if no one will actually compete

I'm not talking about the rewards in particular but how people just start circuits, sprints etc for others and then instantly leave. Same with the duel abuse, people just making money and RP by begging for these in doherty. I'm just following your logic and asking you, what's the point in having a duel system on the server if no one's actually using it for dueling?

Quote:the thing is these farmers don't let anyone join their lobby, they quit as soon someone outside their group enters the lobby, so starting an URL sometimes gets really annoying, in other words you can't race in URL sometimes because of this.

People in customs do the same very often, they just see a person they don't really want to compete with and leave the lobby. Or alternatively, kick the person out if they're hosting the room.

You can't be punishing people for the cooperation. It's also not their fault you or someone else can't find a match.

P.S. Since the rewards is what bothers you the most, I gotta mention that the pursuits can be much more profitable and they're available 24/7. I don't see this whole situation with custom URLs being a problem at all.
