Looks cool in theory, bleeds out in practice.
The only benefit from this that your friends you are play with don't have to rejoin again to the host's lobby and they are 100% included in the next races. That's cool, but only works really well if you play with just 1 friend otherwise it's totally worthless if you think about it. If you play with 2+ friend there's the option to put the password on the lobby, the host needs to pick map anyway (at least in the "b)" verison) so creating another lobby with the same password for the same 3-4 people after a race is just the same thing, with this system the only difference is the auto-join which isn't that useful in this scenario.
If we think about playing with random people, that's more like it, but i'm really sceptic about this as well. When i create a lobby, sometimes it's a miracle if i get 1 person who wants to stay in the lobby and don't leave immidiately from it, with this experience i highly doubt there would be more people who wants to stay in the same lobby after a race than people who don't (not to mention the fact if they lose miserably the chances for "they want to stay" are even lower), and if nobody wants to stay in the same lobby what's the purpose of this feature, you can rather create another new lobby again and you'll get the same result in this scenario as well.
The "a)" version is more interesting, adds a little versatility to the mix, but leads to some quiestions with some problems. First, it could include any kind of map from any race mode? if yes, what if all the votes are on an off-road track, and at least one member who stayed in doesn't have an SUV, what if it is the host, the whole lobby just cancels out? If we froced to keep the car we just raced with in the precious race and the server picks the maps that suits only the cars in the current lobby, what if somebody wants to race with a different car? That person just leaves and rejoins with the car he wanted to switch? In this case the whole "auto-join" thing loses its purpose at this point (which i guess would be the main goal of this system), and we're back to the same problem i listed in the previous section.
Random maps could be fun, but just until a certain point, they get bored really quickly. Quick race is a thing and almost nobody uses it even to this day where it has like +200% reward and nobody gives a shit about it.
The last thing that you can only start races with 4 people is what i agree the most in this topic, why couldn't we have sometime 4+ player race that isn't url, i jsut don't get it. If this were a thing the sections i listed up there would be spoken in a completely different tone, but it is what it is for now.
